Equipment Needed:

Measuring Utensils, Bowl, Fork


Ingredients:
  • 1 cup      Unbleached Flour

  • 1 cup      Whole Wheat Pastry Flour

  • 1 teaspoon       Sea Salt

  • 3 Tablespoons   Cane Sugar or Sucant

  • ½ cup      Cashew Butter

  • ¼ cup     Vegetable Oil

  • ½ cup     Cold Water

 

Directions:

1.     Mix cashew butter and flour and salt in bowl. 

2.     Toss with a fork to create small pea-sized pieces.

3.     Add other ingredients and knead until all flour is moistened.  Add 1-2 Tablespoons of additional water if needed.

4.     Divide in half and gather pastry into a ball and roll pastry out.

5.     Press into pied plate and prick bottom and sides with a fork.

6.     Bake at 375º for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
